Sounds really really good! I used to have the pork pie big black brass 6.5x14 and was a hell to tune. for my point of view this one sounds better and is very easy to tune!
Now i want the sensitone aluminum!

Quality snare and Pearl reputation at a good price
After going through several snare drums I can honestly say this one won't disappoint.
I looked at similar and higher priced Mapex, Ludwig and Tama offerings, and I was actually considering a DW but found it to be flat sounding, missing something I couldn't quite put my finger on.
With a smooth-as-silk snare throw-off, bridged lugs and super hoops, REMO Ambassador heads, high end snares and a fantastic anodized finish, this one hard to beat (no pun intended).
The Sensitone Custom Brass Alloy is a tad on the heavy side, but you'd expect that given the 6 1/2 inch depth.
Okay, as for sound, this drum exhibits a well rounded snappy snare attack that will get very loud the more you lay into it. Fantastic rim shots, its true forte is with ghost notes that project during light jazz double or triple taps.
As with most Pearl products I've discovered over the years they are some of the finest in the drum business and this snare certainly lives up to that...
