Pearl Vision Birch Artisan II Drum Kit
I ordered this drum kit for my entry back into the music scene and in looking for a mid level kit. I had past experience with Pearl and especially in their EXR Series drums, found them incredibly musical considering their entry level price.
With this kit, I found pretty much the same. The finish was not what I had expected from Pearl in terms of the wrap and especially at the seams of two of the drums, but due to my time contraints, I could not send these back with any hope of getting a replacement kit back in time.
As far as set up is concerned, understand that you are getting a "boxed" kit, so be ready for some assembly. If you are not familiar with "building" a kit from shells, get someone experienced to assist...it takes awhile.
Sound was what I expected from Pearl; very musical, fairly easy to tune to pitch and the two ply heads made the kit sound better than it had a right to. I will tell you that this being a birch kit, expect it to be LOUD...at least noticeably...

I couldn't believe it!!!
I am a 24 year old drummer, i originally ordered a Pearl Shell pack from guitar center but the item was not available so i ordered the "Pearl Vision Birch Artisan Standard shell pack" not the FUSION(difference is the tom sizing starts at 10x8 12x9) in emerald blue, by the way it was 100$ extra for this color, from GUITARCENTER at 609.99(that included a coupon of 90$ off), i immediately came on the GREAT AMAZON.com!!!! The exact same shell pack, the exact same color(emerald blue) for 499.99$!!!!!! i cancelled my order with GC and brought my business to AMAZON.com......the color is unbelieveably cool!! looks like the ocean! and the tom tom mounting system is crazy modern! I am really loving this set. Looks great with my DW pedals and Zildjian Cymbals. Do your research then come to amazon for the killer prices, worth the wait and Thanks for the coolest looking drumset EVER!!!

Beautiful sound! Beautiful set! I would definitely recommend this set to anyone looking for their first drum purchase! It's better than a beginner set, but not stage quality.
