Evans REMAD Resonant Bass Drum Head, 22 Inch
With accentuated low-end response, the EMAD Resonant is a 7mil Black reso with a fixed internal control ring. It comes with two interchangeable foam rings that install in the 5" offset microphone port and allow the user to manipulate attack, tone, and sustain without the need for internal damping.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.
You can trust this review, i hope you can try to buy this product and then you know this product good or no. Next time you can make a review for another people.

Great head, false description!!
This head is great!! Exactly the low end thump I was looking for! Evans has always made quality heads and this one does not disappoint. I have mine coupled with the Onyx 2 batterhead (black) and they make a great looking set as well as a sonically matched set. As close to perfect as you can hope for.

Buyer, beware the description, as you DO NOT get the interchangeable rings. Evans has since made a newer version with a fixed ring and lower port hole placement!! Know what you are buying!! Amazon and Evans needs to update the description!!

Definately recommend this head if you are looking for that low end missing from other heads. 5 stars for quality and functionality!!!!!

Great head, but not the one pictured
The EMAD head is a great head with good tone and low end.

But beware the picture and description is not accurate, the head you will most likely receive would be the newer "revised" head.

The mic port has moved to the 4-5 o'clock position, instead of the 2 o'clock pictured, as well as Evans has taken the interchangeable rings and replaced them with an attached ring. Also making the port itself smaller (4" instead of 5").

I didn't use the rings on my head because I felt I got more of a thump without them, as well as I've heard they fall apart anyways. So with the old head and the revised head its difficult to get them at the same pitch, very close but not exact, for me anyways. Of course I'm no Bob Gatzen at drum tuning.

So if you're trying to order to match a head on a double bass drum setup, order two, but if not, and you want a great head with mic accessibility without cutting your own hole, and low end thump this is a great head.
Amazing
Awesome head! I put this on my Pearl Vision drum and was so happy I upgraded the standard head. I'll spare you the technical detail. But I will tell you this, the guys setting up the sounds were extremely impressed by the sound of my set and I knew it was in part due to the bass. It was awesome to just see them impressed when I was just playing some basic rock beats for a quick sound test.
